After a two year wait Butlins Splash opened its doors to the public in April 2019, just in time for the Easter holidays. The build, cost in the region of £40 million.
The building is very attractive to the eye from the outside, built in an outstanding art deco classic Butlins style, that founder Billy Butlin would no doubt have been proud of. The complex hosts an array of different fun pools, along with the world’s first helter-skelter water ride. There are numerous racing slides, flumes, toddler pools, wave pools, beach huts, sun loungers, lido style pool and outdoor rapids, making it hard for visitors to know where to start.
Kier construction were the appointed main contractor on this project and Spectile worked closely with the architects PWP and the sub contract tilers Dyson Briggs throughout, ensuring that delivery ran smoothly from start to finish. It was an honour to have had the opportunity to play a part in this prestigious project and we hope to be part of many more in the future.
